Syllabus

The first point to emphatically make is this is not a theoretical course!

 

The mini MBA syllabus has been developed from the collection of “streetwise” business tools based on our experience of working with thousands of companies over the last 18 years.

 

This course was designed with the number one objective to provide managers and students with a set of practical resources. The Mini MBA is a good reference and offers a knowledge base that covers a number of management disciplines.

 

Our goal was to prepare a series of multimedia modules, slides, handouts and resources which are capable of helping you solve and analyse real problems.

 

The Mini MBA program is a practical resource that can be used as a collection of stand-alone templates, reference and training materials or as a nationally accredited training program in conjunction with the MAUS assessment and interactive electronic lesson plans.

 

All course material was reviewed and if found too theoretical, it was dropped.

 

The Mini MBA is ideal for employees wanting too improve their practical knowledge about business management, or for employers and managers who wish to provide a practical inn-house training program for their staff.  We have set up the training templates within this program to be reasonably generic so as to appeal to as many organisations as possible.

 

Australian National Training Framework

To ensure the Mini MB A provides you with a sound basis of management skills, MAUS developed it in close reference to the Australian National Training Framework.

 

The Australian National Training Packages are developed through extensive consultation with industry stakeholders. They include consideration of skills and knowledge required to achieve tasks  that have real relevance inn day to day life - whether in a business or personal environment. They also provide a step-by-step approach to learning, beginning at basic knowledge and skills a d building on them to present more complex concepts.

 

Competencies from the Business Services Training Package are integrated throughout the Mini MBA. Each of these standards has a series of elements and performance criteria i.e. skills and knowledge requirements, which are used in an assessment process to determine if those  involved in the course are “competent” in performing this set of skills and implementing the knowledge.

 

How does it work?

Whilst we have integrated the competencies through the Mini MBA course, they do not occur as a “tick-a-box” approach. As you work through each module and session in the Mini MBA, you may be learning knowledge and achieving skills associated with one or more competencies. This approach to learning creates a more logical flow as you learn about management principles.

 

To ensure you are capable in the competencies within the Mini MBA, and in order to issue you with recognition of your achievements, we need to identify that you understand the information and have the skills the Mini MBA has lead you through.

 

After each session in the Mini MBA, we will set you some additional tasks to complete these will be added to your personal portfolio as you work through the course. These additional questions may be in the form of a case study, a series of question and answer activities or the completion

of a quiz.

 

Our intent is to determine that you can apply the Mini MBA knowledge and skills to different situations, whilst maintaining your privacy in the electronic Mini MBA tool.
